Massey ferguson 1532 tractor issue

My uncle is in a bind with his Massey ferguson 1532 tractor's 3 point hitch. The other day, the hydraulic oil was low, so he topped it off.

After running it, the 3PTH started acting slow, then briefly worked after he fiddled with the box blade lever. He thought it was fixed.

But today, the 3PTH is completely dead, even though the hydraulic oil level is good and clean, and the front loader works.

He's checked the speed lever and knows other hydraulics are fine, but the 3PTH just won't budge, forcing him to manually remove his box blade

It sounds like you're dealing with one of those classic hitch circuit issues. Since the loader seems to be running just fine and the pump's working, I'd suggest starting with the drop rate valve and the spool linkage under the seat. It's funny how sometimes a little bit of debris or a stuck valve can mess things up and shut down the 3PTH while everything else keeps ticking along. Have you taken a moment to check if the control linkage moves smoothly when you fiddle with the lever? You might just find your answer there

I had a buddy with a similar issue on his 1529, and he found it out to be a stuck draft control lever, which overrides the position control, once he adjusted it, the 3PTH came back to life.

Since the loader works, it's not a main pump issue so my first thought would be to check the 3PH control valve itself, or the linkage to it.
Sometimes the linkage can bind or disconnect, preventing the valve from actuating properly.
Given it worked briefly after fiddling, that makes me suspect a mechanical issue with the lever or its connection to the valve.
Also, if there's an independent flow divider or selector valve for the 3PH, that could be the culprit.
It's less likely if the oil is clean, but a small piece of debris could still be jamming a relief valve or spool within the 3PH circuit, even if the main system is otherwise fine.
