What other engine parts are damaged?

Ok, so my head has been aching so much since I got this secondhand Massey Ferguson 1440V from a rando. Friend is selling the same thing but I got this instead because it's much cheaper. REGRETS! I just brought it to the mechanic and apparently it was ran without coolant because of a leak that the owner didn't notice. They didn't tell me that. That's info you need to disclose to your customer! I'm pissed. The engine is now weak. What other parts might be damaged? I can't get help in my location to be honest. Super expensive around here.

That's a rough situation. Driving without coolant can cause some seriuos issues. You might have a damaged head gasket, a warped head, or even messed-up pistons and bearings. Start by doing a compression test, look for coolant in the oil, and flush the system. If it's already showin weak signs, you might be looking at a rebuild for the top end at least

Oh I understand why would be frustrated on this one. for me, you might want to get a detailed list from the mechanic of everything that's damaged, even if you can't fix it all right away. just to give you an idea on your next move

In the best case scenario you might have a warped head, which is a relatively easy fix and not that expensive. On the other hand, an overheating engine can cause damage to other components, which can get quite expencive

definitely,overheating can lead to anything from a slightly warped head to more serious issues elsewhere in the engine. It's wise to check things out early to prevent those expensive repairs down the line
